One might look at the amount of progress that I've made in actually recording a CD and say, "She must not really want to record it since she hasn't gotten anywhere!"
I have to admit that it certainly looks like that.
I DO want to record my CD and the more time that passes without gaining any headway is thoroughly discouraging. For a while we had some momentum going with Derek (my friend) helping us out with his recording programs and his computer. But as we began, his computer began to go into overload.
Then the holiday season came upon us. Meanwhile Derek scrambled to buy a new computer and some upheaval occurred in his life. And how about that winter? Wasn't that something! Worst snow we've had in years. It seemed like every other rehearsal we had to cancel for either weather or not enough of the team could attend to even make it worthwhile to have the rehearsal!
Meantime, I've written another song called, Lay It Down. It's really a good song. At least I think so and so does the congregation. It's about laying down our problems at the foot of the cross and allowing Jesus to guide us through our lives and problems. It's about realizing that at our lowest points, Jesus will bear our seemingly enormous burdens and carry us through the storm.
In truth, I would like to simply have the ability to go into a recording studio and not have to worry about the money that it would take to record it that way. I would like to have a big computer of our own to house all the recording programs that we would need to record it ourselves. Then send it off to be professionally mixed. I would like to have a producer; someone who knows what they're doing, has the musical abilities to critique, add and take away from the music. AND someone who believes in me and just wants to help make this recording happen. God, are you listening? Love to all ...... Christine

Moving Ahead
It's been several months since I posted, but things are still moving ahead, albeit slowly. God has recently blessed me with a new song. I have been praying about that, wanting to write another song that is not only worshipful, but one that would be in a more contemporary style. I spent 3 weeks trying to write a song under a new song writing format on my computer. After struggling for those 3 wks. I sort of gave up. Then one morning, a rythmic line and a few words started replaying over and over in my head. Instantly I knew that "this was it".. ... so I went to the piano room and in 15 minutes had most of the new song written. It's great. Not that I'm bragging, but it's what I prayed for. Good lyrics, nice melody, contemporary and not contrived. I'm writing about things in my life that I relate to personally and also most everyone else can relate to as well.
Here's the latest on the the recording. Last monday nite a meeting was held at the church with a friend who has a recording program. We will begin on Monday nights to lay down recording tracks, one track at a time of the new song. From there we will decide how to use the song to promote the bigger project, which is ultimately, the album. Thanks for following. Chris

God's moving in my spirit
I've sat down a few times trying to write but it all sounds so familiar. So I stop.
Truthfully, as far as the funds are going, there has only been one gentleman to donate towards the album.
I am not discouraged over it. God will either allow me to do this or he won't.
If you feel led to contribute thank you very much. If you have only stopped by to check it out, thanks for stopping.
I have about a dozen songs that are under consideration for the album.

We're Hopeful on This Next Lead
Good day to all who are reading this. The weather here is beautiful here on the shores of Connecticut with the forests about half bloomed creating a soft green carpet on the tree tops. Tulips are up with the other spring flowers. The grass is a brilliant green and colors and fragrance fill the senses. It is a good time to enjoy the wonders of the creator.
Well, here's the latest on my efforts to find a producer and recording studio:
Jerry, bass player extraordinaire, tried to look up an old acquaintance that he had recorded with years ago, only to find out he has moved to Nashville, TN.. So sorry, but I guess that guy's not going to work out.
But Jerry has another idea. He has another friend, who also just happens to play a bunch of different string instruments, including steele guitar. (I happen to like country music and one of my songs that I've written is of that style and could really use a good steele guitar in it). So....I'm hopeful that this could be a good lead for us.
On the home front, I'm busy trying to keep my efforts evenly balanced between the choir and the worship team, home and family. And of course, staying on Weight Watchers.

Well here we are with spring upon us. Everything blooming. God once again proves that He alone is the master gardener. His timing is impeccable. Everything blooms just when it should, every year. Spring comes without fail. We can count on new life each spring, a productive summer, a time for harvests as summer closes and we merge into fall, and a winter for rest and cleansing. When have you ever known His seasons to not come?
I am relying on His direction and timing for the album. Baby steps are what I seem to be taking as I step out of my comfort zone. Little pushes from friends keep me going. But I give the Lord the credit and I'll tell you why. He knows what I need and He directs my steps. His timing is right. So this is the time for the album. This is the time for the planning, for the preparation. Just as a gardener plans the garden he will plant, so this is the time to prepare for the album I will make. A few donations have come as I slowly spread this website address. I'm just not a person to jump in with both feet, blindly. I want to do this right so that the finished product is right.
Thank you for following this blog. Thank you for your help. Chris
